Seasonal Thoughts

The closing of summer season
brings a hint of sadness
long evenings filled with light
and early mornings bright
will soon disappear
darkness will start early
night hours become long
coldness will close in
as winter begins to arrive
the colours of fall will fade
 land will become barren
giving into the coldness
as the earth slowly freezes
everything goes into hibernation
as it slowly awaits the spring melt
within all four cycles
we sometimes wish for two
but what is Christmas
without the falling snow.
