Sea's Calling

Lingering near the beach house open door Wishing for escape to the sun drenched shore Amid the crashing of the blue green waves Enveloped by the salty water the body craves Gulls swooping toward residue left on the sand Straining to see a whale emerge from a sea so grand Ships far away making way slowly toward the docks Dreaming of sailing into the horizon beyond jagged rocks Eyes close momentarily for relief from sunshine’s ray Then open as waves come crashing toward the bay Breeze pushing it's way inland filling me with seas scent Walking barefoot in the sand as the water begins decent The sea calling out drawing me near Oh to be lying on golden sand in salty sea air
