I searched dark shadows in the night's dim light and found loneliness hidden in the dark the moon rose covered by thin clouds in flight silently traveling its nightly arc This companion listened though never heard as words formed from the curled lips of sorrow questioned reasons became so unassured they quickly lost answers for tomorrow The stillness of time has quietly grown in a bargain with shadows that surround as thunder rolls across the soul alone storms begin to overwhelm and confound with sadness and bile's emotional plight I searched dark shadows in the night's dim light
