Searching For the Facts

Researching generally finds the truth Not accepting the common belief Or buying into those conspiracy theories Knowing the facts brings much relief. The queen did not die in Detroit, my friend, Despite the reports on the internet, She succumbed in Scotland at Balmoral A fact the world should never forget. I am amazed at the wild speculations What gets passed around on social media More so the number who feed on trash Let’s give a hand to good ol’ Wikipedia. It constantly serves up helpings of fact Also, it invites efforts to make it correct So, when it comes to determining what's right Be careful with what “facts” you select. Written September 10, 2022

I am not surprised by anything the internet prints now "I am amazed at the wild speculations What gets passed around on social media" but I am glad to see that yhou are still surprised by it.

Love it, Milt. When I Google anything, if the resultant page has something to sell, I walk on by. It’s not quite the same but (referencing folk who swallow nonsense) one of my favorite gags is ‘The word gullible isn’t in any dictionary’… tell anyone and I’ll bet they look it up. Love this one Milton. A favorite. "Knowing the facts brings much relief." One of the most difficult things to do is change a mindset or idea that has been repeated over and over and over. Another ideology to overcome is ones denial in not wanting to believe the truth, because as in the movie of Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise, Cruise says in the movie," You can't handle the truth." Thanks so much, Michael. You have given me much to think about, as your comments generally do. Unfortunately, too many people cannot "handle the truth." Worse yet, many refuse to believe the truth when it is staring them in the face! I can't account for this mindset in the modern world.

This is an area I am passionate about I can share information that is factual that would blow peoples minds. Unfortunately most people don't pick up a book, they are fed repeatedly through the agendas in the media. It should be everyones responsibility to think critically, to question everything heard, to see what is happening around you. To ask the question why? China exist whether someone wants to believe it or not, and so does the truth... Thanks for your effort in posting Milton. Your thoughts are always engaging and your Poetry always has substance. question is, "How much research, is enough research?" The more books read, and researched the closer you get to the truth. My parents always taught me to question everything and make a diligent effort and I mean diligent to seek what the truth is. Back in the old days it was much easier to find the truth. Now they censor the truth and the fact check corps are all controlled by the same people that are part of not sharing but ridiculing, denying, and taking the truth and reversing the facts creating a lie. Through history no one can argue how we have been lied to, or information kept from us intentionally.

Hmmm, I’m wondering if some people have arthritic ears and stomachs, referring to your earlier poem Milton, some of the rubbish they listen to and swallow is unbelievably painful, I’d prescribe a tiny pill called research, clears the condition up in no time at all, excellent topical poem, cheers David

I'm loving this one, Milt. Too many who've been led by lies believe in those 'alternative facts,' c/o Kellyanne Conway. The most diabolical facts are the conspiracies woven by Trump and his conniving cohorts.

You're certainly right about that, Jenna. I'm simply amazed at how readily some folks buy into the most bizarre inaccuracies (I mean, lies!). And worse, they persist in spreading them!

I take what I read now with a pinch of salt, too much fake news about. The conspiratists had a field day with covid, there's trackers in the vaccine so the government can watch you , frightening thing is many believed it. you couldn't make it up. Tom
