Searching For An Answer

So much gets said, but how much truth is actually told?
Everyone has different versions of the matter
People love to speak on what they don't know
I'll find my own closure, i'm done searching for an answer

I want to kiss her again, but her lips don't taste right
I miss her, but she shouldn't be in my life
Sometimes you need to accept someone for who they are and stop wishing
I had to let go because her face is beautiful but her heart isn't

Her body is a work of art
when I needed someone she was the first to depart
But she'd cry and expect me to drop everything to help her
I finally got the courage to tell her I'm allowed to put myself first

When we met I had a heart of gold
You turned it into a heart that's cold
When you have to carry on with your movie without your first choice lead actress
It will always be the hardest show

sometimes the people you love hurt you most and that's difficult to understand
I'm sure you'll be the perfect girl for another man
Don't get me wrong we had a few good times and a laugh or two
Please don't take this wrong, but I'd rather shake hands with Freddy Krueger than get back with you

So much gets said and now my truth has been told
I don't care to hear different versions of the matter
I was holding on for so long, I've finally found the strength to let go
I found my own closure instead of wasting time searching for an answer
