Sealed Lips

He really does not know why. It has been this way since childhood. Oh, he's much better at it as an adult; but still, there are times, he is baffled. It seems that from the start, he was deprived of words. When he was a little boy, people would say awful things; like, "What's the matter, does the cat have your tongue?" Such a question only sent him further into the quiet zone. Sometimes now, his lips are sealed and he has to force them open. Some people speak of a 'loss for words'; he has a 'word poverty'. Dorothy just wanted to get back home. Tin man simply wanted a heart. Scarecrow desired a brain. Lion longed for courage. The 'word deprived' little boy is now a grown up man who hungers for words. 11102017 PS
