Seaking of Goodbye Kisses
Why do your softly placed lips on my cheek,
pet and tickle so many years later?
If we had made love on the ground
at that very moment,
I might not even feel it now,
but your lightly brushing lips
and those goodbye words,
are still skintight to my memory.
You tagged me with
an inter-cellular message,
and it left me
with this pile-driving silence.
Grey stubble tingles.
I can still hear you walking up to me,
then walking away, and in-between
there is that lightly applied embrocate of lipstick,
still burning its way to my bones.
