Sea Songs

I think of you in the fog and the rain,
Overlooking the sea, heart full of disdain.
The words bubble up in my throat then fall back
“Did you forget to tell me you love me?” I ask.
Eyes full of woe, the tide pulls you into her-
Like I was pulled into you, sweet disaster.
Light years from now when you have travelled all seven of her seas,
I hope you’ll look out and dream gently of me.
