Sea of Dreams

She gazed into the flame
Called out his name
Another time another place
In memory she recalls his face

Shadows roll across the wall
Pictures hang in the hall
Memories come and go fast
Traces of present and of past

Reaching for castles in the sky
While in bed they did lie
She gazes into the flame
Softly whispers his name

Dreams that had died
Drowned in tears cried
Wings unable to fly
To the rainbows in the sky

In the faded light
In darkness of night
What was, what had been
Lost in a sea of dreams.

So beautifully written and well expressed Phyll. So much emotion. Such sadness. The words "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" come to mind but when it happens to you those words don't quite ring true. As always a remarkable piece. Bravo my friend. God Bless, JB
