Sea

Sleep, sleep
You " are the salt of the earth "
Your tears have crackled in the fire
Neath the offering of the new moon
You have received
The four blessings from the sky
Two have served you well

Hope is carried on waves
In vessels of greed
And abandoned by fear
Your journey has ended
Innocence on a sandy shroud
Preserved in salt
Sleep, sleep

Dipped in the brine
We pass you around
A media offering for our sins
As a reminder of our civility
We sacrifice this child
And place him at the gates of our hell
Sleep, sleep
