Scream

The room's waiting, like a cage
and blank nothing on the page
draws attention in the dark
waiting, as though for a spark.

But there's something that could fire—
should I run, or still admire
while the monstrous cold white screen,
preparing a built-up scream
—lurking big behind the scene—
suddenly dies, left unseen?

Zofia, nicely penned. Writer's block is no fun.

This captures the quiet, suspenseful anxiety of the creative process perfectly! The tight, punchy rhymes build a fantastic sense of tension, beautifully mirroring the intimidation of facing that "monstrous cold white screen." I love how the abrupt ending leaves the built-up scream "unseen"—it is such a relatable and vivid depiction of a writer's struggle.
