Schneegipfel Der Anden/ Snowy Peaks of the Andes/Picos Nevados De Los Andes

Unter tiefblauem Himmel
Aufragende Schneegipfel der Anden
Aufgereiht wie Perlen

In glitzender Pracht in der Sonne
Die Salzseen und rosa Flamingos

-----------------------------------------------

Under bright blue skies
Towering snow peaks of the Andes
Beaded like pearls

In glistening splendor of sun
The salt lakes and pink flamingos

-----------------------------------------------

Bajo un cielo azul profundo
Pingorotudos picos nevados de los Andes
Alineadas como perlas

En brillante esplendor del sol
Los lagos de sal y rosados flamencos

Wow, that must be one amazing sight! I sure am glad to read this Gert, thanks for sharing, I think I get a pretty good picture because of this! Haha I have to admit that the closest to any Andes I ever got was that of the chocolate & minty kind ;) Have a wonderful weekend :)--nikko

ooh, lovely imagery, especially the last line with those pink flamingos against the glistening lakes. Thanks for your comments on 'A Single Rose', I'll be sure to check out your 'Ivory Rose'. Have a great weekend, I'm just off to get my supplies, ready to watch England v USA this evening ~ Sharon :)

What a glorious picture from a bird's-eye view, Gert! I would love to fly over the Andes one day and see such a sight. The translations work very well and carry the melody similar to the English one. Love, Carolyn
