Scars From Yesterday, Built My Character Today

I look in the mirror and I see scars, marks that will always remind me of yesterday.
I look within and I feel the emotional scars, thoughts that will always remind of yesterday.
In the past there were good times but they are not as easy to find.
It’s not because I am blind but because they are not marked every time I open my eyes.
Yesterday’s tale pain left it’s mark, it was a time when mistakes nearly led to my demise.

My scars tell a story, they are a reminder of the times when life tried to break me, but failed.
Because through so many impossible obstacles my mind, body, and will have prevailed.
These scars are markings of where the structure of my character was molded.
Now I stand with my whole life completely reloaded.
