Scars

The world is dark, the sky is grey,
Nothing ever goes my way.
I feel so sad and don't know why,
Sometimes I wish I could just die.

Because I'm through with lies and all this pain,
Getting hurt over and over again.
I don't know how much more I can take,
Before my heart can't overcome its final break.

"You're still young, don't give up hope!"
People trying to help me cope.
But they don't care, they don't even know;
There are pieces of me that I don't show.

My innocence was ripped away,
I still think about it to this day.
You left a scar deep down inside,
One I try so hard to hide.

Some scars fade but never leave;
I hide them all under my sleeve.
Will this pain I feel ever fade?
I keep reaching for my razor blade.

I know it's stupid, don't ask me why;
I can't stop, no matter how hard I try.
I'm afraid one day I'll go too far,
And then it won't matter if there's a scar.
