Scars

We hide the scars that burned and bled
Inside we are all covered in red
The pain we bare
As we smile and hope no one stares

Yes, we hide the scars with a smile
No one knows how many tears have been shed
Or how many days we couldn’t get out of bed

We pray
That no one can see through this mask
We hope this mask will never decay
Or break
Torn
Broken
Bleeding
Will this nonsense keep repeating?
Stay hidden
Stay out of sight
Quietly
Step into the sunlight

I enjoyed reading this. But it was hard too. So descriptive. I felt to pain and anguish.

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
