When pain occupies all of your thoughts, hope morphs into the forbidden fruit. And as your stomach twists into knots, the weight of love's absence grows acute. You cringe inside, feeling life's unfair and drowning in tears, struggle to cope. For suckling on the breasts of despair, reality has drained you of hope. When childhood memories include rape, dreams dissipate into nothingness. And you find that you cannot escape these feelings of utter emptiness. Admonishing life, you curse your fate as the blade's tip scratches out a path. And self-abuse morphs into self-hate when cutting begins to calm your wrath. Purging the pain from your tortured soul, starts with a tiny trickle of blood. And then, as new cuts exact their toll, crimson drops create a scarlet flood. (Quatrain) 9/10/2017

And I just saw your pic. I've heard of cutting but have never seen it with its ferocity!

Wow! A great emotional write! So tragic when rape supercedes a lonely, wonting existence. The tortured soul who turns to self-abuse to push away their thoughts.

Thanks Kim, sometimes the human experience can be a painful one my friend, and we must be aware of the hurt others suffer in silence, Emile.

I am intrigued by your poetic venture into all matters of human experience Emile. You feel, feel for feeling, and deliver always with tenderness. This is a difficult topic, nice work. Have you read my "An Ode" on the topic? I was one of those kids, the self abuse a difficult habit to break. Wonderful day Emile :) xomo!
