Scarlet

Scarlet,
the color of our sins.

The color behind the eyes
of lustful men

The color of pride
And promiscuity

The color my soul bleeds
Because I am in need..

Scarlet,
the color that burns in most souls

Ugly like hell
Yet, glitters like gold

Scarlet makes me try
to fit into that mold

Of conceptual beauty
That shallow eyes behold

Scarlet blazes like flames
Yet feels ice cold

Scarlet sweeps the land
As the mystery unfolds

Scarlet covers our women
And controls our men

Scarlet even lingers
In the minds of our kids

Scarlet, you deceive many,
But you don't fool me.

Scarlet is the color
Of the enemy
