Scared To Death Of

These things are passing
temporary in their afflictions of
to be dealt with in problematical
or carried a brick of sacks
slung this weight upon the back
to weigh a feathers heart
against solutions search

These things are transient
present in busy most ephemeral knots
such worries jury-rigged encumbering
to calculate a livings worth
so scared to death of
it is said of life

And who by falsehood represents
itself in screaming rants
devise claims of despicable caesura
to toss and turn
upon the fortunes wheels
then scurry to dispassionate rat holes
of self preservation

Temporarily in their own affliction
the frightened cohorts of their own desperation
gnaw at the bone of life
in dire consequence to play host to their unnameable terror
of the scullions death to be there
and so to be scared to death of death

And yet, but of life, have no message to impart
naught but fitting to a whimper
and utter some vague hope in feeble attempt
of gratuitously taken breath
to the tombstones cold
have so departed

Sacrament, acquisitive, accomplished and accounted
the scratching chalkboard experience
in dusts wiped confounded
or of some worth to be measured by
was this life
or in truth so very scared to death
of death

These things are passing
so temporal with their afflictions
problematic to be balanced
on the shoulders of their solutions
gnawing on the bone of life
to weigh a feathers heart
against
