Someone’s at the door, banging away With each thud, I wish to scream out and say Help me please, do not leave, stay My lip quivers in fear, as on my bed, I lay They are all gone, gone, faraway The bangs stop, leaving a timber spray My chilling blood freezes my vein, hardened like clay I pull down my sheet and open my eyes after a final pray The figure stood above me, “Spare me” I say
