Saying Goodbye Was Hard

I dearly miss my friends at The Glen Where we spent eight very happy years Never realized how happy they were Each day was filled with good cheer Friends galore, lots of things to do It was our choice to join in or not Help was there, if we ever needed it The friendships were over the top The choice to sell up and move away Was certainly a difficult decision Financially things got overwhelming So the logical choice was written Truly wish we could have stayed forever But sadly it just wasn't in the cards I'll always remember all the good times Saying goodbye was oh so hard! © Jack Ellison 2013

A wonderful sad poem. I don't see too many of these from you, but again excellent work. Sorry you had to relocate, but often change offers and opens up new opportunities, and I know you're just the person to see those opportunities. Merry Christmas. Kind of weird saying that to Santa Clause lol.

My Dad is leaving the hospital today. He's a mean to the nurses and staff. They won't miss him... He treats them badly and then wonders why they give him a room all alone in the south forty... UNBELIEVABLE!... Be glad you have friends... My Dad has a rather short list... And if he wasn't my father... I probably wouldn't be on it either... He's that bad!... But I love him... in spite of himself... No wonder I love Dragon so much... They're alike! Amazing! Can't believe I didn't see it before!
