Say a Prayer

You need to know that I have to go
but call my name and I'll be there.
Don't despair. Just say a prayer.

I'm going on ahead so follow your dream
to the end of the road.  He'll lighten your load;
No more than you can bear. Just say a prayer.

I leave you my heart while we're apart.
Keep it close or put it away
and live to love another day. Just say a prayer.

Don't mourn for me. One life goes on;
Live it for two: me and you.
We're always a pair. Just say a prayer.

Hold me 'til the light. I won't fear the night.
This is not goodbye, no need to cry.
Don't ask why. Just say a prayer.

Can you see it? Close your eyes.
It's the promised land. Take my hand.
I'm crossing over there so say a prayer.
