Say a Blessing

Their sacrifice is our freedom
To which we owe our thanks
They chose to walk into the deepest trench
They choose to keep us safe

Each one has a home a life
A waiting family
Everyday worrying
Waiting patiently

This long road they walk
It is never made in vain
This isn't just a career they chose
It's a blessing a calling

It takes someone very special
A heart pure and true
To give up their own freedom
To protect both me and you

So as we lay our heads down
We pray to the Lord above
Remember to pass a blessing up for
The soldiers missing home.
