Saviour

The waves are crashing down on me
There is water everyone drowning me
No lifeboat or hero, to save me
Until I see a hand reaching out for me

I arise from the water, gasping, choking
I see your face hovering, showing only concern
My cold ice heart melts in a moment
You are the only one I see.

You stroke my hair and tell me I'm all right
warmth of your body, keeping me up right
We are now on the shore and my eyes start to close
Too exhausted, I have lost consciousness

When I awake I am in the hospital
I search the room, but you are not there
Nobody, here and me, the bed and the empty chair
You are gone, gone, but my memories of you live on
