Saving Memories
Here I am, back again
with thoughts of all my mild friends
of crazy boys and lovely girls
and mind trips with them, 'round the world
of those who know my green-eyed glow
and share with me my golden snows
of summer times when we would sit
around our fire, gently lit
torching our fears and passive love
expressions that we rarely touch
except when together, the moments drift
engulfing it all, the mileless rift
Alone no more, I sit with you
dreaming of dreams we'll make be true
and time dissolves to kiss our brow
knowing I'll leave, our hands held now
With you, I'm whole and wild and true
and blurting out nonsense and acting a fool
Head on your shoulder, I breathe clear and deep
memories must last me, and these I will keep
so close to my childish, heart-like impressions
there with the rest, I'll always hold precious.
