Saving Albino's

And we walked north
Towards the star
Towards the hope
The last of any hope
On this planet
If we could just get to it
Just reach up in the sky and grab it
For ourselves
For our world
Everything has been changing
From the big things
Like wars, and global warming
To the little things
Like music, and movies
No one is as they used to be
The small spark everyone used to have
Has vanished
There skin tone has gone from
Tan to albino
Color leaving their faces
Making their hair drab
Like the bark on trees
No emotions are spared
Straight out emptiness
We seemed to be all that is left
And even us... have lately been... changing
His skin losing color
My eyes going dark
But if we can reach that northern star
If we can just get to it in time
We may be able to save us
All of us...

Jen, you have described well the way the world looks to people who are suffering from depression. I hope you "reach that northern star." I'm enjoying reading your work. Thanks for sharing. Love, Carolyn
