Saved By Poetry

As youth I frequented harlots
and took dark substances
Paid a price for both!
But I have now found the craft of poetry
to be most redeeming!
Peace will come to you out there in the darkness
Only if you are willing to share your innermost feelings
with that "nation within a nation"
The readers and writers of verse!

Matt: The world is so diverse, as I sit here now writing a verse. No matter how badly I write, I certainly can't make it no worse. :o) Keep your work coming. oldbuck

Beautifully written and expressed! ...You are absolutely right, Matthew. Poetry can save a life that is heading down a dark path... I know that it has helped me and given me so many good friends.

Matt, I left a message for you back at the last poem you visited. I simply cannot figure out what you mean by "punch in" that title with your name. Copy and paste is how I "punch things in" Please can't you just send the poem to me somehow?

It is a soul enhancing thing to put pen to paper. Paper is a better substance to immerse yourself into. Cheers. Craig

There is a song by the Jefferson Airplane with the lyric "You're only as pretty as you feel" Take note of that! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

Writing poetry is cathartic for certain. It helps us understand ourselves better too. A nice piece Matthew! : )

Out of the darkness and into the light Matthew. I'm so glad to see poetry has been a saving grace to you - I know I would have found life difficult to cope with if I hadn't started writing when my hubby had cancer as i had a traumatic 3 years when from 2013, now i just love putting pen to paper :-) hugs jan xx

Wonderful, Matt. Sometimes you reveal things about yourself I would never have guessed!
