Saved By Grace

A Sinners Lament, "Saved By Grace" Written: by Tom Wright 5/2/99 The first place I should have gone, Was the last place that I went. Instead of residing in God's Castle I spent my time in the Devil's tent. Instead of feasting at God's table I dined with Satan from the ground. My thoughts seldom turning to Jesus To a burning Hell, my soul was bound. Instead of sparkling clear water On God's golden avenue. I drank of sin with the Devil Oh, the things he put me through. Then one day I felt like Jonah Having been told that I had cancer. No longer could I run and hide And the world, for me, had no answer. Now in shame I admit that as last resort To God, I had turned in prayer. The one, from whom so long I'd ran Had not tired and yet waited there. My life is now lived with a purpose With His spirit residing in me. It's for Him that I now labor For from sin I have been set free
