Saved
Upon the mighty surface of the rising torrid sea
I spoke with God, my savior, who waited there for me
He told me of my virtues and sent me on my way
My time was not this moment, but on another day
I felt as if the rising sun had leapt within my heart
Filling me with hope and light, a brand new day to start
I swam back to the waiting shore and crawled on to the sand
Knowing, in this morning sun, that God had saved this man
I wept until the tears had dried, what seemed to be all day
Rising then unto my knees, for a moment just to pray
“Oh mighty God in Heaven I am humbled by your love.
You come to me upon this earth, yet exist in all above.
A servant, I, am to the word, that spreads the truth of You
With hopes, that all will see the Lord, in everything I do.
My God, I’m oh so sorry for living here with doubt
You’ve proved me, true, a sinner that has now turned about
My dying days and living life are forever to be spent
By teaching of your valued words and all they’ve ever meant”
Upon this very day, this day of my new birth
I promise to spread the Word to all I meet on earth
