Listen to poem:

Saudade of Stars

Stars Bloom Spring's gone Still they wink Blind to our lost love Yet we cherish ancient starlight Now we see them as they were millions of years ago. Yet we love them like flowers we dry and keep in glass vases long after spring has passed. For longing is not missing what may be gone; its the light, the memory, the echo, made more powerful because we know they may have gone. So when we gaze at stars, living and dead, that are still shining, it's like planting our dried flowers back into the garden, trusting forgotten seeds will blossom among the cherished beauty we already know forever at heart.

Yesss we know forever at heart! Absolutely cherish this meaningful poem, how you've poured your heart here in such an evocative manner, dear John.. I love the imagery of those blooming stars, and how we preserve them like flowers between our perfumed pages of life.. "So when we gaze at stars, living and dead, that are still shining, it's like planting our dried flowers back into the garden, " How beautiful! Congratulations on your placement in my contest, keep writinnn and shininn, sending you soothing starsz and fairy sparkles 🧚🍂🌙💫

That heavy last line sat well in this shape.
