Saturdays in Summer
They were lazy, sunny Saturdays, and looking a lot like summer.
They were the times of tea and roses, of porch swings in motion,
They walked barefoot in hot sand, amid turquoise wave thunder,
When red sun streaked its colors, painting skies, with devotion.
They were the times of tea and roses, of porch swings in motion,
As vivid woodpeckers, crickets and bees, joined the dusky band,
When red sun streaked its colors, painting skies, with devotion.
They were days of polka dot and striped flowers, in grasslands.
As vivid woodpeckers, crickets and bees, joined the dusky band,
Green fireflies flickered and disappeared, through lovely hours.
They were days of polka dot and striped flowers, in grasslands;
And the pink butterflies of rich surprise, delighted sunlit hours.
Green fireflies flickered and disappeared, through lovely hours.
They walked barefoot in hot sand, amid turquoise wave thunder;
And the pink butterflies of rich surprise, delighted sunlit hours.
They were lazy, sunny Saturdays, and looking a lot like summer.
