Saturday Night

Tails of pony, this strawberry-freckled Freda.
Strong-armed tomboy happily playing baseball.
Bathing beauty, Saturday night, when scrubbed clean.
   Bitterly pitched out.

I think I gather that growing up wears you out...you're looking at it now at your age and presence in life. Loved your writing...

Dear Kim, ahh, it is the painful process of growing up and trying to meet cultural standards. It is tough, and your poem lays it out well. Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

I enjoyed reading this one. I do not know about the Sapphic stanza type of poems. Guess I should look it up. Have a wonderful Autumn day...................

This is the first time I learned about this form. Very interesting, especially the short ending line.

It is tricky. Uses trochees and dactyls. Hugs
