Saturday

Saturday
Saturday was a bad day. It was a very bad day.
I wish it wasn’t!
I was moaning all day. The pain was excruciating!
Why should I live like this?
What kind of prison is this?
How come people are not running away?
Escape, damn it! Escape!
Sunday afternoon came. It was a very bad day.
Bad news, lots of death. The pain was too much!
Monday night came. It was a bad night. No moon, no sound
Not from living, not from dead!
Tuesday came. Tuesdays are always bad. Nothing! Nothing!
Wednesday came, and everybody was tired.
Thursday came, and everybody was in pain.
Today is Friday!
Thank God today is Friday.
Tomorrow, I will escape.

This sounds like a horrible week ... very unusual poem, with little hope in sight. I hope you can escape from the routine ...

Thanks Tim, You're right, I don't usually write free verse. Getting old has these kind of weeks....

Congrat. It reminds me of The Night of Tuesday towards Friday and of course Long Day Journey in the Night. Well, the poem is round and well done, a little too pessimistic perhaps.Keep your face in the sunshine and forget the shadows.

this is really different and I really liked reading it!!! Why Haloo at the end of your poetry titles? (thanks for asking me if I was Persian. I have no mideastern blood in me but it was cool to think someone wrote like a Persian)

Hi Andrea,Persia, was the birth place of civilization and Ghazal. You wrote such a beautiful and correct Ghazal . Only Persians are expert in Ghazal!! So, I assumed that you are Persian. By the way, We are all African (australopithecus africanus)! If we are out of Africa, then we are all Persians. About Haloo (my nickname) In Persian, it means Naive, innocent, simple, stupid..Cheers
