Sassy the Mudder
The backyard area by the door for grass it always needed more
to much shade from the mulberry tree and hungry rabbits like to feed
When it rains shallow puddles formed and muddy was the ground
the sun comes out and dries it fast and you could walk around
My dog Sassy came into my life full of energy and so young
through the puddles and on the mud she loves to run
The old boys step lightly in a waddle, Sassy at full throttle
tearing the ground with big paws ripping grass with her claws
churning the earth as she runs into muddy mess such doggie fun
Runs fast as a cheetah growling like a grizzly bear
every nip of grass quickly disappears
So now the area is reduce to muddy earth
all for the joy of Sassy running mirth
She is a fireball flashing fast as sound, the only victim my grassland ground
So now I get to get some big stepping stones
while Kublia digs in the mud to bury a bone
Genghis tip toes trying not to slide but still the dogs enjoy outside
Sassy has been with me less than a year but as a rescue she loves me dear
Each dog is different but still the same, for with them love always sustain
And if no grass can grow. looks like a lot less to mow.
