Sapphire's Ghost

Airborne jewels, royal blue
sapphire,
dew-spun wings, iridescent fire.
Skimming the surface of a sun-
kissed river,
adorning white caps with their
luster.
Delicate sea glass on beaches
of white,
illuminated by day, hidden by
night.
Memories of dreams we'll never
see.
Denying they were ever really
there.
