Santa Keeps His Christmas' Promise

That is the first time that Santa had to make
a wise decision: to keep, or not keep Christmas?
He'll disobey the restrictions to stay at home and take
his sleight ordering the reindeer to fly away immediately
and deliver presents to all anxious children waiting
by the fireplace not too sure of he'll come oohing!
What seems so thrilling could be forgotten and be put away?

" Adorable kids, I won't miss another Christmas,
no snow can stop me and my elves are coming to help me;
lookout for me and hear my oohs, stay awake!
Check the time and expect many surprises, I will make
you happier than ever: smile, and thrill me!
If your mom tells you to go to sleep, wait until Santa arrives!

What's are those noises over the shaking house Nick asks? Why
those harmony bells and soft grunts of deer are heard?
What's that laughing sound coming from the snowy and silent sky?
Nobody is expected after midnight unless it's our dad!

Mom takes a look and exclaims with surprise
It's Santa! It's Santa. He has kept his promise!"
Mary, Jim, and Nick look up as their faces gleam,
and widening their thrilled eyes they scream:
" It's Santa! It's Santa! He finally made it to our town!
We thought that he wouldn't show up ever again!"

" I had a change of heart ", Santa confessed smiling,
" I couldn't disappoint you because of this pandemic, you are
braver than I am wearing your masks and washing
your hands often as a good deed for yourself and others;
don't let your guard down and show that you care! "
Listen to your parents and you'll be fine, this will be ending
soon and you'll play outside your favorite games! "

Merry Christmas, Carolyn. I am thrilled about my win. It's the best Christmas gift ever! It has been a sad year for everybody and I hope the Christmas cheer will brighten up the darkness and it will bring everyone smiles of joy. Be well and stay safe. A big hug, Andrew.
