Author's Notes:"Santa Claus" is a Tanka written in the traditional 5-7-5-7-7 syllabication schema. The message of this write should be obvious. Santa Claus is a historical and mythic figure of great importance. As this historical figure, Santa Claus, is seen as typifying the Christmas Spirit; and in his personage, as one who promotes a common spirit of good cheer while bringing with him a special aura of peace, joy, fun, and sharing with others.
