Santa Claus

It was two days before Christmas
And all throughout his house and shed
It was completely filled with gifts
Even on top of the bed

Soon off on their very first trip
Their car packed so tight
With so many that are in such need
They made three stops before the first light

And each gift having an address and a name
To miss even one would be such a shame
Parents eyes opened so wide
Shoot! half of them bent over and just cried

And on their way they did go
Oh the joy they spread began to overflow
And even just someone walking past
Will have a memory that will forever last

Back to the house to load the car
For from the house they never had to go far
But this was a special trip
As I could see it in his bottom lip

It was a hospital called C.H.O.P.
And this year there was a whole new crop
Putting on his red suit and that famous hat
Stuffing a big old pillow now jolly and fat

As soon stopped the elevator
And opened up that door
The joy this one man would bring
It seemed the whole floor would sing

Smiles on almost every face
As we can not forget the name of this place
But oh how there was just so much joy
All in the giving of just one little toy

So back to the car and home again
You're right Santa isn't like most men
For even as the sun began to set
He had three more deliveries still waiting yet

So many think he is just a neighbor
Never coming to know his core
But I know he is Santa Claus
A man who wants no applause

He may drive right past you
So be careful what you do
Give him the right away
For he doesn't really have a sleigh

Oh Santa is real
Once again behind the wheel
It may not be the original story
But it's filled with just as much glory

So nice to read your verse Vince, you would have been a bit higher without the [e] on Clause BUT maybe you did mean a part of the sentence? Loved the story! Thanks so much for the entry. Congrad's on your win. Light & Love

very nice one!! Today I was looking at newspapers and they are giving descriptions of kids needing sub for santas to bring them toys. All the good people who donate to these causes are our Santas.
