Sandcastles
Between Haven and Drain, between salt and fresh,
youngsters delight - sacks of sand for castles - let's!
The bags all white except two that are blue, so why this hullabaloo?
The politicos have pounced fearing a wave of reaction, but will this
mean any traction, let alone any long term, effective action?
The borough's been here before, we seem to be always in the news,
whether it is the wave of migrants that some would like to us to ouse away,
yet I say live and let live should be the order of the day: if we stand
together to tame the Sea, this challenge could change us, you and me,
if others help us too; if not so be it - let us be - we won't be beaten by all of thee.
