"sand On a Beach" (Lonely Alone In a Crowd)

Walking with hands empty and a hole in my heart..
Steps are slow as the people I pass begin to part..
My thoughts are a million miles away to place where
life was a little clearer...
Another image passes through my mind as nameless
faces pass through my mirror....
I can't see their agenda as they shuffle past...
Yet there voices and chatter are a distant sound
as they walk by so fast..
I wonder can they see my drama or even reach..
Or am I just another grain of sand on a blissful beach..
Like a leaf on a tree that blends in the light..
My life is in my mind and the glow not so bright..

Very wistful words that conclude your poem Michael, like the enigma therein that leaves the reader hanging.Rgds Brian

I know I feel this way at most times, am I important? Or am I already under a un-important line. Do I sparkle like a star? Or am I un-special and I keep reaching for them. Mixtures of pain and being unaware of oneself...but that helps us find ourselves.
