Sand and Stone
All my real and exaggerated infractions
Over the years you meticulously engraved in stone
But your moral indiscretions against my soul
I recklessly and occasionally scribbled in the sand
The storms we weathered in our years of marriage
Kept erasing all your faults without a trace
But mine became more distinctly etched with time
Until there was no forgiveness left
