Same Old Story

This is the same old story with a few new tears
We've all heard it before so who cares?
We've all been here so this isn't new
This is the same old story but with new tears

We've all been here before But I still feel like I'm the only one
Give your all to a girl and she leaves you the lonely one
Wish I didn't give my all to this girl who couldn't even give half back
All of my future loves will have to accept that I come with scars attached

I used to blame myself for falling short
Until I realised I was chasing someone who didn't want to be caught
I was forced to let go of what I wanted to hold most
I thought we were on the same page but I guess I didn't understand what was wrote

No one understands love more than someone who lost it
Put my heart in the hands of a girl who squashed it
No such thing as the perfect words if the person doesn't want to hear them
I made a mistake and broke myself by trying to repair them

Even my worst nightmares couldn't imagine this
That I'd be stabbed in the back with the same sword I slayed the dragon with
By the very girl I fought to save
Now everytime I hear her name I feel the impact of the blade

I'll repair my broken pieces and come back stronger and better
Starting to realise I deserved better that's why I didn't measure
I'll overcome the tears, Heartbreak and accept the ending
This was the same old story, but now it's time for my new beginning
