Same moon
Two weeks without you broke me, your shadow filled my room
Thoughts of you beside her had me staring at the moon
I kept my phone on silent, yet your name stayed in my head
Then I heard your voice again, and every heartbeat fled
Are you looking up right now, beneath that distant sky?
Same moon, a different town, while I wonder why
Why you let me fall away when I still feel you near
Why the silence speaks so loudly when I need you here
I heard you’re back in town now, but still you never call
Then I saw that picture, and it hit me like a wall
You with that careless smile, a story left untold
Maybe you left that trail for me to find my way back home
If it’s meant to be us, why are you making me wait?
Say the words you’re holding back before it is too late
I don’t want the almost, I don’t want the maybes
Tell me that you felt it too, tell me you still crave me
Are you looking at the moon too, wondering what I do?
Do you feel me somewhere there, still reaching out to you?
If you’re on the other side, beneath that same night sky
Come back to me, my love, don’t leave this love behind
Because two weeks without you showed me what is true
No matter where I wander, my heart still leads to you
So if you’re looking at the moon, let it carry this tonight
Come back to me, baby, and make our wrongs feel right
