Salvation and Its Basis

SALVATION AND ITS BASIS
I am not saved by feelings,
For feelings are deceiving,
The Word of God is what I trust,
None else is worth believing
.
I am not saved by doing,
But by a work that's done,
For God accepts no other work,
Than that of His dear Son.

I am not saved by praying,
Though prayer can helpful be,
It's only when I make Christ Lord,
That I from sin am free.

I am not saved by ritual,
Of dogmas, church or creed,
For God in His great wisdom knew,
New birth is what I need.

I am not saved by people,
Their visions or revelations,
But only by an act of God,
The Word calls 'regeneration'
.
I am saved when I believe
In Romans ten, verse nine,
For then God works a miracle,
And makes salvation mine.

Great piece Vivien, really appreciated your facts on basis of salvation, it's all so very true and wish more preachers would keep to these basics. Have blessed God filled day, Gordon

The gospel is not doom and gloom. Jesus came to give life and life more abundant. The Bible says it's the love of God that leads to repentance, not the wrath of God. The wrath of God was placed on Jesus. Thank you Lord.

I 100% agree about being save by the belief that Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins, All else is window dressing.
