Salt Spray
The biting wind
flaps the stray strands of hair
into my face
I close my eyes and remember the day that I met the sea
it waved at me
Closing my eyes so that I could see
the dancing colors on my eyelids
Walking a march so slow
Watching my footprints go
Did one ever know
What to show
the ocean?
It gives back
but do we give back?
The sea mourns
for us all
maybe could one learn the truths
yet, it seems like a pondering waste
The deceit that we give
the brutal honesty that the sea shows
Take care for what we love,
in shame in what we have lost
