Saint Patrick's Day Musings

Saint Patrick's Day Musings I feel lucky on this Saint Patrick's Day Perhaps my muse has something to say As I'm decked out in my holiday green She's painting pictures of a cozy scene A thatched roof cottage in traditional style Calls forth memories that make me smile My ancestors lived in this country glen Life was so much simpler then Rising before dawn, they worked the land Their food and clothing were made by hand Labor was heavy and days were long But in their hearts was always a song The famine and troubles came at great cost Though their Irish strength was never lost The Emerald Isle gleams with their deep-set love And speaks of their faith in God above. Love your St. Patrick’s Day musings, Molly: the Irish heart is always happy and through the most terrible times there was always a song. SuZ
