Sailor

I mourn for my sailor, lost at sea I offer up hope, recite every plea the shore was vast and my heart alone drowned in the tides, a sinking stone I walked for hours of infinite torture a mess of grief yet an innocent mourner scattering tears and wailing songs who will now try to right my wrongs remembering peace, longing for mercy a love story’s end, the final journey at night I dream of fallow seas my love so blue and tangled in reeds battered ships adrift on the swells scattered bones among the shells rocking in time with the tides and the moon my lost sailor wanders the dune searching for treasures, forever at sea he was my soul, I will never be free forever adrift, forever apart forever my love, forever my heart.
