Author's Notes: Sailing Away Under a Silver Moon Forever is a co-authored Tercet poem that Liam McDaid and I had recently completed after a close collaboration and direct coordination with one another. Liam and I thought the readers of this poem might find some of the imagery and metaphors we developed for this selection to be of definite interest, and this also includes the final message this poem delivers to the reader to think about in its final stanza. (Gary Bateman - April 29, 2018) (Tercet)

Theme Categories: beautiful, dream, emotions, imagery, love, metaphor, and symbolism.

Sailing Away Under a Silver Moon Forever As the morning slowly awakens I see how those beautiful eyes Of yours warmly shine bright and share thy palpable feelings of Enchanted moments of true love and unbridled fiery emotions. Making love to me in the depths of your sweet dreams proves to be Quite interesting as angels fly by and giggle softly at this prospect. Yet, as we touch, caress, and kiss deeply—your dreams are now reality. A lively passion burns inside such loving beauty as all pain fades away, And I know you are that special one I have longed for my entire life. The pulchritude of your radiant presence and spirit bedazzles me now. As we adorn one treasured pearl filling our hearts with its deep pleasure, Our minds now connect as one, visualizing eternal dances of true love That echo on in caves beneath our psyche sounding our mutual passion. Sailing away under a silver moon forever is where we need to be as two Sultry lovers and like-spirits who have eaten that sweet forbidden fruit, And to know we shall both scale infinite heights one day into eternity. Hello Liam Mate!! I thoroughly enjoyed our "ultra violet" collaboration on this particular selection!! As I'm always fond of saying, no pun intended, "The Devil is always in the details." The time we took on letting this one linger for awhile in development paid off. The tone and tenor, and the balance and symmetry of this Tercet turned out very well. Methinks it is time now for a Nip of Old Irish Dew!! Best!! Gary

Hello Darlene!! Thanks for your wondrous comment here on behalf of both Liam and me!! If what we wrote here had this particular affect on you, then both Liam and I were successful in literally pulling YOU the reader into the greater theme of our poem here. Every word and every verse in this poem are designed, one way or another, to capture the imagination of the reader -- or at least, that is what both of us tried to do here with this theme. Best Always, Gary

Thanks Dear Anne-Lise on behalf of both Liam and me!! This topic is one that Liam and I had actually discussed over the last couple of months. I am very pleased you like how this one turned out. Sometimes writes like these take a direction of the own, as you already know, depending on the theme and subject. Best Always, Gary

Hello Arturo, Thanks for your comment here!! The "forbidden fruit" finds it metaphorical antecedent in connection with John Milton's famous "Paradise Lost," and his reference to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and the overtones of original sin after they had both had eaten the fruit of the "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil" in the garden. (There is much more detail beyond what I can answer here in this short comment reply, but this at least gives you the undercurrent of what we were getting at here.) Best Wishes, Gary

Thanks Art!! Very pleased you liked this co-write!! The theme associated with this particular Tercet was a lot of fun to develop. Both Liam and I came up with some interesting metaphors and symbolism in the process of writing it. Cheers and Best, Gary
