Sadness and Tears

Sadness and Tears

When the well of sadness overflows
like tears that rise to the surface of the eyes
like raindrops gathering in a pool
after a heavy rain at night

When the pool is too full to contain
the water that has gathered from the rain
like tears brimming in the edges of the eyes
it escapes and flows like water in a stream

Sadness hides within the well of the heart
like stars that disappear on a moonlit night
it comes and goes like the changing moon
when days are dark and the sun is not in sigh
