Sad Story of Indian Women

                        Since wedding, she is very sad
            She is searching for some love and care
Her husband and his family are heartless selfish and bad
Leaving her husband, going back to parents gives her scare

                        She works  silently without any rest
She is constantly criticized, even beaten, her life lacks zest
Inner peace, respect, love, praise  and proper sleep her quest

      She has to work even when she is not well
            Take rest I will do, nobody will tell
                        Her life is like a hell

On birth of girl she is criticized, all want lad
            She has no rights to voice her opinion, wouldn't dare
      Whatever all say, accept she must
                        Her daughter is killed, she can't even yell

S.Zaynab Kamoonpuri July 27, 2021 at 12:50 PM Although this poem doesnt reflect the lives of many of my Indian women relatives in India who enjoy easy lives with housemaids and good kind caring husbands and in laws there are women esp in rural areas and villages who are treated badly by all and face harsh drudgery. You have depicted their plight in a superb fine and excellent way. Kudos!

I know many women living miserable life and undergoing tremendous implicit as well as explicit pains and struggles. Its just a sad, sad world for the unfairness of life for on the other side, you see women flaunting vanity (wrapping themselves with expensive things, anti-aging procedures/products, beauty regimens, etc.). I admire your courage for speaking out.
