Sad sorrowful songs reduce me to tears Bringing back memories made o'er the years Of the emergence of my first romance That ended because of someone's askance. I moved on and found my only true love Sent from the matchmaker in sky above We have had our share of sorrow and pain Sad songs remind me of those times again. Tears are souvenirs of sadness it's true Yet those tears can be of aid when we're blue Music is the language of worldwide hearts And sad songs pull heartstrings soon as they start. Listening to songs sung to a sad tune Tears fall as I slow dance around the room Song and dance have an enchanted effect Helping the heart and the mind reconnect.

Lovely write Beryl. Music is the nearest things we humans have to a Time Machine. Cheers - Gary

I love music and especially sad songs...hmm, I guess it has a therapeutic effect on us? Kind of paradoxical how "sad" makes us feel better. Nice poem, Beryl about something I can relate to.

Hi my friend, Unfortunately sadness brings along with it tears, which are heartbreaking. Life can sometimes be cruel, and hearts can be broken, but we therefore so welcome and rejoice when good times roll into our space. Music is soothing and can help get during bad times. A sentimental write Beryl, well penned. Hugs, Jennifer.

Thank you so much Jennifer, without music life would be drab, even though sad songs bring sad memories back… Hugs in return, Beryl

Can anyone forget one's first love? Most don't. Sad songs remain in one's mind never to be forgotten. Lovely poem.

Music fills our ears and hearts with sorrowful as well as joyful songs, Beryl. For me, Beyond the Sea rings in my ears as a sad song today. I felt your verses.
